"A wise former colleague of mine would say that the family is the unit of care in older adult medicine."
Background
I was fortunate to know from day one of medical school that I wanted to be a geriatrician, a physician who specializes in the care of older adults. I have always felt very comfortable in the company of seniors, and I was deeply influenced by my father, a World War II veteran whom I was very close to. At Hopscotch, I focus on helping patients manage complex chronic diseases while also supporting the family members who help care for them.
Education
Life & Hobbies
I reside in south Asheville with my husband, Dr. Dave Wilson, also a physician with Hopscotch. We have two older sons in graduate school and college and a daughter in high school. Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, hiking, and visiting the arboretum. Fun fact about me: my family owns a 100-year-old feed and seed business in Oklahoma, now in its fourth generation!
