Understanding your Medicare options

Medicare can be complicated. Here's a plain-language breakdown of what's available to you and how Hopscotch works within both Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans.

Original Medicare

Original Medicare is a federal health insurance program made up of Part A (hospital coverage) and Part B (outpatient and provider coverage). You can use any doctor or facility that accepts Medicare nationwide. Hopscotch requires an active Part B plan.

  • No referrals required to see specialists
  • Predictable structure with set premiums and deductibles
  • Does not typically include prescription drug coverage (Part D)
  • Can be supplemented with a Medigap policy
  • Accepted at all Hopscotch locations

Medicare Advantage

Medicare Advantage (Part C) is an alternative offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. These plans combine Part A and Part B and often include Part D prescription drug coverage and additional benefits.

  • May include dental, vision, and hearing benefits
  • Often includes prescription drug (Part D) coverage
  • Network restrictions may apply, check your plan's provider list
  • Out-of-pocket maximums provide a cost ceiling
  • Many plans accepted at Hopscotch, call to confirm

Not sure which plan works best for you? Our care team can help you understand your coverage before you become a patient. Just give us a call, there's no obligation.
